Smith Supports Driver’s Licenses for Illegals

Despite Denials, Wayne Smith Voted for Driver’s Licenses for Illegal Aliens TWICE!

Despite the fact that Border Security and Illegal Immigration are the top issue to Texas voters, Wayne Smith, a 14 year incumbent, has voted not just once, but twice to give driver’s license to illegal immigrants.

That’s correct, Rep. Wayne Smith joined the Democrats and voted to give illegal aliens driver’s licenses in 2013 and in 2003.

Below is the explanation of how Rep. Smith voted TWICE to give driver’s licenses to illegal aliens:

Smith’s 2013 Vote to give illegal aliens a valid Texas driver’s license.

In 2013, Smith voted with the Democrats when they unanimously supported legislation that would have allowed illegals aliens to receive driver’s licenses. [1]

According to YCT, Amendment 1 to SB 1729 would have allowed for illegal immigrants to receive driver’s licenses.”

To be fair, five Republicans realized what they had voted for and changed their votes. Smith however, proudly stood beside his treasonous vote.

Smith’s 2003 Vote to give illegal aliens a valid Texas driver’s license.

In 2003, Smith voted to allow Mexican Nationals to use the matricula consular as a valid ID in order to obtain a Texas driver’s license. [2]

According to a 2003 FBI briefing given to the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on Immigration and Border Security, “the Matricula Consular can be a perfect breeder document for establishing a false identity.” The FBI briefing further explained that “The Department of Justice and the FBI have concluded that the Matricula Consular is not a reliable form of identification, due to the non-existence of any means of verifying the true identity of the card holder.”

Smith’s not only supported giving driver’s licenses to illegal aliens, his vote would have aided terrorists activities and human smugglers.

How Smith’s 2003 support of the Matricla Consular for obtaining a Driver’s License would have helped Terrorists:

According to the 2003 FBI briefing:

The ability of foreign nationals to use the Matricula Consular to create a well-documented, but fictitious, identity in the United States provides an opportunity for terrorists to move freely within the United States without triggering name-based watch lists that are disseminated to local police officers. It also allows them to board planes without revealing their true identity.

How Smith’s 2003 support of the Matricla Consular for obtaining a Driver’s License would have helped Human Smugglers:

The second criminal threat is that of alien smuggling, a crime that has resulted in many deaths within the past year. Federal officials have arrested alien smugglers who have had as many as seven different Matricula Consular cards in their possession. The cards not only conceal the identity of the smuggler, they also serve as a magnet for the victims who are enticed to entrust their lives to the smugglers, believing that the Matricula Consular that awaits them will entitle them to all sorts of benefits within the United States.

How can Republicans trust a man who not only voted once but twice to allow illegal aliens to receive driver’s licenses.

Don’t be fooled again!
